They just stick with you I guess
Because you can try to put them down
For a while but, they never really leave
There’re in the wind

They get down into the marrow somehow
It’s a good thing if you’re asking me

I don’t like pain when I’m in it
I’d rather just skip to when it’s finished
But that’s not the way it works

I know You don’t plan without a purpose
But the journey makes me nervous
Cause sometimes the journey hurts

But what scared me then doesn’t scare me now
Things with You tend to work out

I’ve been up on the mountain
Down in the pit
Everywhere in between
I have lived on the highs
Cried through the lows
Of just about everything
But I’d go back to where I started
Go through what I went through
I’d take all of the wins and all of the losses too
Cause they led me to You

I grew up learning about the sparrow
How Your love would never let go
All the stories are true

I’m ok to be right where my feet are
I’m learning that’s where You are
Take me where You want to

Cause what scared me then doesn’t scare me now
Things with You tend to work out

Basic Faith

I'm getting back to the basics
Don't need a clever way to say it
No more flashy ways of praying
A simple yes and honest amen, yes and amen

I surrender all the ways
I complicate
This common grace

Reignite that holy flame
The purest praise
Is a basic faith

When did I stop seeing angels
Started working my own angles?
It isn't faith if you explain it
It isn't God if you can tame it
